Catapillar barrier for fruit trees

Philosophy of use

Prevent tent caterpillars ravaging young trees

Story

The kind advice of Nick Ferguson (Permaculture Classroom) put me onto options to protect trees from climbing insects.

This year I used three different products of the same concept. My fruit trees were largely untouched but the trees “treated” with Tanglefoot did the best. The idea is prevent insects climbing, and this does a good job at moderate infestation levels of doing this. At cataclysmic infestation levels this may fail, but it was very effective this year.
